Elyza The Healthy Grocer

” Huh? we’re putting in quotes?” -Elyza

Hey, you can probably see my name in bold on top of this text.

So…yeah. Food. Food has the ability to drastically change a persons mood. If someone is having a bad day, their favorite food will be able to at least calm them down or completely change it. No matter what it looks like cause in the end aren’t you glad you’re not screaming in agonizing  pain because the you haven’t eaten food? That was surprisingly dark now that i think about it. For me it’s always gonna change my mood to something more positive. Food is food. My food preferences have changed throughout the years and I can safely say: “food is expensive.”

Here in the Grandpa’s Kitchen blogging website, l will mostly talk about food budgeting and healthy things you can do to the food itself. Probably more on the budgeting part cause who are we kidding. right?

well that’s all you need to know about what I do here.

Grocery Shopping

Parents and or Guardians, Would you agree with me when i say that budgeting for you and your kids’ meals are difficult? Well, how about budgeting it for the whole week?

How about you young adults? When you first moved out of your parents’ house did you find it hard to reserve some extra money? Didn’t you have a hard time to manage your money on your first time alone?

Not all of us are good in managing our money like others are. Here’s a quick tip, have you ever tried grocery shopping twice a week? Now, I know this is about saving some extra money but hear me out. Its actually a good thing to  be shopping for food.

I want you to think first, what do you usually buy when you’re off shopping for food? Meats, produce, perhaps some canned meals? Well, if so its probably safe for you to start this habit. If you were to buy food twice a week you will be ensured that your food won’t go to waste. Not all foods you buy have a certain preservatives to be left out for days like canned tuna and instant noodles. No. Vegetables and some types of meats don’t have any. Which makes them last for only a week max. Thus, making it necessary for another trip to the farmers market for more greens.

More time to plan the next few meals. Buying food for the first few days will enable you to plan out what to buy for the next trip. This will guarantee that you won’t waste a single ingredient in your fridge and see what other ingredients you are lacking for the next meal you prepare. You can also mix and match different condiments to use in your dishes and discover a whole new branch of flavors.

These are pretty good reasons why you should try and shop twice a week for your food but I’m pretty sure that anyone else could come up with more reasons to or even other tips. Why not share it in the comments for others to see? I’d like you all to engage in the comments on other different tips or your Food Budgeting stories and you may also suggest what to talk about on the next blog. For now I will leave it here.

Goodbye and Have a nice day!
